The Mike Rucker ALS Care Fund was established in honor of former Carolina Panther Mike Rucker, who has been a long-time fundraising champion and advocate for the Carolinas Neuromuscular/ALS-MDA Center. Mike, along with his wife Kristina, also serve on the PinStripes event committee. During Mike’s career with the Carolina Panthers, his SACK ALS program raised over $250,000 for The PinStripes Fund.

The Mike Rucker ALS Care Fund supports respite care-giving for ALS patients and their families served by The Carolinas Neuromuscular/ALS-MDA Center at Carolinas Medical Center. ALS patients face numerous challenges in their daily routines, relying heavily on constant personal assistance and care from family and close friends. Now, thanks to the establishment of the Mike Rucker ALS Care Fund, ALS patients at Carolinas Neuromuscular/ALS-MDA Center – who previously paid 100% of the cost for this type of care – can receive assistance for this invaluable service, ultimately improving their quality of life.

Families who are interested in inquiring about this support for respite care-giving support should contact Kristy Walgren at The ALS Center. If you would like to make a donation to this specific fund, please contact Jean Fuller at 704-355-1818 or visit www.givechf.org to make an online donation.
